Redundancies
Redundancies are a form of dismissal. Therefore the dismissal must be fair and there are detailed procedures that must be followed in order to avoid a claim for unfair dismissal.
The procedures will also vary considerably depending on the number of redundancies that are proposed, and, as with any dismissal, the consequences of getting it wrong can be costly. Practical HR provides support and advice at all stages where redundancies are proposed. This includes considering the commercial justification and future requirements for the business; selection criteria; redundancy payment calculations; consultation with employees; and all documentation and letters.
Alternatively Practical HR can provide you with redundancy management guidance notes and example letters.
